Welcome back to The Questionable Garage! I’m Jared, and today’s episode is a wild one. What started as a quick favor turned into a full-blown rescue mission — and almost a felony. I “borrowed” my friend’s forgotten 1975 Ford F-100 Dentside with the plan to revive it over a weekend. What I didn’t plan on was a seized engine, a panicked phone call, and a hard deadline to get it show-ready in less than 8 days.
The truck had been sitting for 25 years, engine locked tighter than Fort Knox. So we yanked the old 302, sourced a new powerplant from a mystery Econoline, rebuilt what we could with our own hands, and installed a complete Holley Sniper EFI bundle. This wasn’t just a “plug and play” — this was a full thrash: wiring, brakes, fuel tank, ignition, exhaust, glass, and more… all under pressure, sleep deprivation, and questionable choices.
Thanks to Auto Metal Direct and Holley, the revival became a reality. Not only did we beat the deadline, but my friend got to drive his childhood truck to his very first car show in decades. No staged tearjerker moment, just real appreciation and a whole lot of burnout-worthy horsepower.
