The Hyundai Kona starts at $26,045 and goes up to $33,595 in the USA, depending on the trim. The SE trim ranges from $24,550 to $26,050, the SEL from $25,900 to $27,400, the N Line starts around $31,100, and the Limited trim ranges from $32,100 to $33,600. The Kona offers multiple powertrains, including electric, hybrid, and internal combustion engine (ICE) options. The electric variant comes in two configurations: a 48.4 kWh battery with 156 PS and 377 km of WLTP range, and a 65.4 kWh battery with 218 PS and 514 km of range. The hybrid version combines a 1.6L GDi engine with an electric motor for a total output of 141 PS and 265 Nm of torque, available only with a 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission and front-wheel drive. The ICE models include a 1.0 T-GDi engine producing 120 PS and 200 Nm, and a 1.6 T-GDi delivering 198 PS and 265 Nm, both with options for a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCT. The 1.0 T-GDi can also feature 48V mild hybrid tech, and the 1.6 T-GDi can be paired with optional all-wheel drive.
The Kona’s exterior dimensions are 4,355 mm in length, 1,825 mm in width, and 1,575 mm in height, with a 2,660 mm wheelbase. The rear boot space is 466 litres, expandable to 1,300 litres with the seats folded. Inside, the Kona features a dual 12.3-inch panoramic display, a Head-up Display, a wireless phone charger, and compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also includes a Digital Key 2 Touch system, OTA updates, the Connected Car Navigation Cockpit system, a Bose 7-speaker audio system, multiple USB-C and 12V outlets, and 60:40 split folding rear seats.
Kona Electric models include specific enhancements like the i-PEDAL driving mode, Smart Regenerative System, e-ASD for virtual engine sound, a front trunk (frunk), and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability with 3kW power delivery both inside and outside. It also features a heated charging cover, Forward Collision-avoidance Assist 2.0, and Highway Drive Assist 2.0.
The N Line variant emphasizes sportiness with aggressive bumpers, dual exhaust pipes, glossy black mirrors, an optional two-tone roof, 18-inch alloy wheels, and unique interior options such as N Line Cloth or Eco Alcantara & Leather seats, metal pedals, and an N Brand gear shift.
Interior color options include Black Mono, Grey 2 Tone, and Sage Green with Black. Eco options feature Fossil Grey for EVs, and color packs include Sage Green and Black with lime accents or Black monotone with orange accents. The N Line interior offers Black with red accents.
The redesigned Kona adds space, advanced features, and sustainability-focused materials while maintaining its distinctive character.
