Mercedes-Benz Electric Motor Production
Mercedes-Benz Stuttgart-Untertürkheim is producing electric drive components for the new CLA, setting the course for the future. With the successful ramp-up, electric drive units and axles from Untertürkheim supply production of the new CLA at the Rastatt plant. This combines tradition and innovation, as manufacturing and assembly of these new components complement the site’s flexible production portfolio.
A new company agreement also designates Untertürkheim as a production site for future top-end segment drive systems, reinforcing its role as a center of expertise for powertrain technologies within the global Mercedes-Benz production network. The production of electric drive units is highly complex, with a 10,000 m² assembly line featuring over 200 manual and automated processes, fully integrated into the MO360 digital ecosystem and operating CO₂-neutral.
