In 1957, Walter “Andy” Anderson acquired a Volvo franchise for his body shop and used car sales center Royal Motor Sales in San Francisco, CA – becoming one of the first Volvo dealerships in the country. Andy was on Volvo’s payroll in the 1950s and had an open account with Volvo to recruit more dealers so Volvo could establish a presence in America.
Three generations later, Volvo Cars San Francisco continues to thrive, serving local customers with business acumen and wisdom passed down over the course of nearly 70 years. And with Andy’s great grandson waiting in the wings, the next generation is ready to keep it going well into the future.
