Our Volvo Story | Borton Volvo Cars

The dealership was started by Oscar I. Borton in 1957, when he added Volvo to his Sportsman’s Pier bait and tackle shop. Kjell Bergh joined in 1967 as a salesman and never left. Like Oscar’s parents, he immigrated from Norway alone at age 19 not knowing anything about the car business.

Over nearly 60 years, Kjell has owned four Volvo dealerships in Minnesota and Florida.

“I bleed Volvo blue – the brand defines who I am as a businessman.”
